Each piece of handblown glass begins when the desired combination of ingredients, principally silica and ash, are heated in furnaces to the molten stage, above 2300 degrees.  The glass is then gathered onto a rod or blowpipe, where the master craftsman fashions and manipulates the fluid mass into the desired shape. It's during this molten stage that the glass is delicately decorated to enhance the shape.  These techniques art the hallmark of Joseph Morel as he produces  the expressive and unique varieties of colors and designs that make Zellique glassware so extraordinary.

Joseph Morel became intrigued by the mysteries and spontaneity of glass blowing as a university student.
