6 1/2 Inch Raku Fired Vase with lid. Horse hair post firing decoration and internal turquoise glaze.
It is the controlled precision of form coupled with the natural random beauty of his hair decorating that makes Chris Wolff's pieces so stunning.
Each piece is hand thrown and decorated then rapidly fired to 1800 degrees when it is pulled from the kiln and horse hair is draped across it. The hair instantly burns leaving the beautiful carbon lines that almost give a marble type effect.
