Rod Hart was introduced to glass sculpture while studing cermics at Alfred University. In 2002 he was awarded a grant from Contemporary Glass Philadelphia and began Rod Hart Glass in 2003. Focusing on the more sculptural aspect of glassblowing, Harts designs are often sureal and stretch the traditional paradigms of the glass medium. His current series of works emphasizes oceanic forms.
